Thexder for Windows 95 Developed by Synergistic Software, Inc. Published by Sierra On-Line, Inc. This is a remake of Thexder built for Windows 95 but has a totally different campaign then the first two Thexder games that were originally released for DOS and other platforms. The game itself is 32-bit and can runs fairly well on newer versions of Windows. However the installer is 16-bit and as a result fails to run on 16-bit versions of Windows. The game can either be run directly from the CD-ROM or manually copied to a hard drive so the installer isn't really necessary. The FMV sequences in the game use the Intel Indeo 3 video codec which is not included in most modern versions of Windows resulting in a black screen during FMV sequences. ffdshow contains a working Indeo 3 decoder that is compatible with the game and can be used to restore video playback with no side effects that I have been able to detect.
