System Software 7.5.0 This zipfile contains tools needed to create Mac-bootable floppy disks that contain the MacOS System 7.5.0 installers, on a Windows 95/98/NT system. In addition to this ReadMe, the zipfile contains DISKIMG.EXE and six .img files, one for each OS installer disk. The DISKIMG program will create Macintosh disks on PC-formatted floppies; it must be run from a DOS window under Windows 95, 88, or NT. On the PC side: --------------- 1. Open a DOS window and CD to the directory containing the .img files and DISKIMG.EXE program. 2. Put a PC-formatted floppy in drive A. The floppy must have no bad sectors. Any data on the disk will be wiped out by running DISKIMG. 3. Enter at the DOS command prompt: DISKIMG W 1440 SSW750_1of7.img 4. Tons of status messages will scroll by as the disk is written to. Upon completion, the floppy will be a Mac-formatted disk, and you won't be able to browse it from DOS or Windows. Eject it. 5. Repeat steps 2 thru 4 for each of the .img files, so that you have 8 floppies. Be sure to label each one. Once you have all 8 disks created and labeled on the PC system, put the first disk into the Mac floppy drive and power on the Mac. The installer will prompt to you insert other floppies as need until the install is complete. The Disk Tools disk contains a disk formatter and repair tools; keep it forever on floppy, you may need it to fix problems. If you Mac hard drive isn't formatted, boot from that disk first to format it.
